Tamil superstar Rajinikanth, hospitalised here for four weeks for respiratory infection, will be flown to Singapore on Friday (27-May-2011) night for "rejuvenation and better health care," his family said.
According to reports, Rajnikanth has been booked as a ''wheelchair passenger'' on a Singapore Airlines flight. His wife Latha and daughters Aishwarya and Soundarya are expected to accompany him.
Rajinikanth’s daughter Aishwarya said the actor will be travelling to Singapore like "any other normal passenger as his vitals are all stable."
Since May 13, he is undergoing treatment at the Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre for respiratory infection and other problems. He was shifted to private ward on Sunday last after being in the intensive care unit.
For those who don't know about him: Rajnikanth, whose real name is Shivaji Rao Gaekwad, has acted in more than 175 films since 1975. He is one of India's biggest movie stars, especially in Tamil and Telugu language films in southern India.
