Krittika Biswas seeks help from Hillary Clinton

Ravi Batra has a point to make and he won’t rest until he has made it. The Manhattan lawyer represented Krittika Biswas, the 18-year-old honour student and daughter of vice consul Debashish Biswas, falsely accused of sending two obscene e-mails when she was not near a computer.

Ravi Batra, lawyer of Krittika Biswas, writes to Hillary Clinton. He says the US Secretary of State must clarify Krittika's status under the Vienna Convention.

"She (Clinton) has an obvious right and power to be involved in a matter where there is obvious misconstruction of the Vienna Convention," Ravi Batra, the lawyer in the Krittika Biswas case, told PTI, referring to the agreement that governs consular relations between countries.

"She understands national security interest and public safety and there is a certain courtesy extended among nations," he said.

18-year-old Krittika Biswas, who was accused of sending obscene emails to her teacher, is suing the New York City government for USD 1.5 million.

After her arrest and suspension from school, the real culprit was found. Krittika claims she was handcuffed and led out of school on February 8.
