James Cameron's 1997 hit movie 'Titanic', which received a record 11 Academy Awards, is all set to hit movie theatres worldwide in a 3D version next year.
James Cameron is set to inflict Titanic on the world once again, with a 3D conversion to bring the film to a new generation of audiences, or sufferers, however you want to look at it.
Titanic was the highest grossing film of all time, until the director outdid himself and created the 3D epic, Avatar.
Paramount Pictures and 20 th Century Fox will re-release the film in 3D on April 6, 2012 worldwide. The release coincides with the 100th anniversary of when the doomed ship set sail.
"There is a whole generation that has never seen Titanic as it was meant to be seen, on the big screen. And this will be Titanic as you have never seen it before, digitally remastered at 4K (resolution) and painstakingly converted to 3D," News.com.au quoted Cameron, as saying in a statement issued by the studios and distributors.
"With the emotional power intact and the images more powerful than ever, this will be an epic experience for fans and newcomers alike," he added.
