Intermittent rains in Mumbai since Friday night has led to water logging in low-lying areas like Hindmata in Central Mumbai and Andheri in the western suburbs of the city.
According to Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's (BMC) Disaster Management Cell, Colaba recorded 95.6 mm and suburban Santacruz 166.6 mm of rainfall from 8.30 am to 5.30 pm on Saturday (11-June-2011)
Complaints of water logging were reported from suburban areas of Parel, Hindmata, Milan Subway, Dadar, Andheri, Malad, Ghatkopar and Vikhroli, civic officials said.
Road traffic is worst hit due to waterlogging and flooding in some areas.
Eight incidents of wall-collapse and about 100 incidents of tree-falling were were reported from different parts of the city. The weather bureau has forecast occasional spells of rain or showers in parts of the city and suburbs while heavy rains would occur in some areas.
