Apparently micro-blogging is getting more and more popular by the day and consequently its biggest platform on the web, Twitter, is rapidly growing as well. Twitter is a free social networking and micro-blogging service that enables its users to send and read other users' updates known as tweets.
Unless you've been on another planet lately, you have heard about Twitter - a microblogging platform, with an instant messaging (IM) feel to it.

When you say something on twitter, it has to be under 140 characters. That's a hard limit. What you say is called a tweet.

Common ways people use Twitter
Some people Twitter more than others. If you start using Twitter, you'll find this out for yourself. It's interesting to see the different ways people use Twitter. Some people only talk about personal stuff, some only talk about business stuff. Then there's those that talk about both. It's actually a great way to figure out how you're going to use it...if at all. Which leads us to the question of the day - should you be participating in Twitter?
This depends on a few things:
1) How you feel about constantly keeping people updated on what you're up to
2) How you feel about keeping your finger on the pulse of what's being talked about in your industry
